Graduating Soon? Let’s Talk Dresses That Actually Fit

Let me share my trauma-informed lessons.
It’s that time of year again — tassels, cap tosses, and the frantic group chats about what to wear under that polyester robe. If you're graduating soon, congrats, you beautiful overachiever! Now... let’s find you a dress that doesn’t make you feel like you’re shopping in the “crop tops for children” section.
If you’re tall like me, you already know the struggle:
You find a gorgeous dress online. You zoom. You dream. It arrives... and it barely covers your thighs. 😩
I’ve been there — especially for milestone moments like graduation where you want to look polished for family photos but still feel like you. Cute + confident + not yanking your hem down every five seconds.
So, if you're on the hunt for:
A dress that hits mid-thigh or below (shocking, I know),
A fabric that doesn’t fly up in the wind while your grandma takes 37 pics,
Or something that flatters your frame without looking like a shapeless tent...
I got you.
If you want to know my struggle as a 6'2" girly… I bought seven dresses for graduation and still had to rely on my gown to cover my butt. Hahaha.
That's my brother Cole — he's a big Duke fan and also very tall. The second photo is me on the field, and that gown was tightly closed for fear the wind would blow my cover.
Ok, now that you know I'm a credible source, here's what I’m loving for graduation:
Let's focus less on colors and more on the cuts and necklines —for this chit chat.
A high boat neck maxi dress — elegant, modern, makes you look statuesque in the best way.
A ruched bust maxi — always gives just enough shape while keeping things fresh, young, and photo-ready.

Go get your diploma, take the pics, and look incredible doing it. You earned this moment — and you don’t need to compromise on the dress to match it
Because you’re not average — you’re simply above it 💫
